I am Kevin R. Carter, MSW, LCSW, a grief therapist supporting Black people
through the isolating terrain of loss. Grief is a response to death, but also to disrupted relationships, violence, injustice, and unmet needs that shape how we live and connect.
I help you to slow down, understand and honor the grief process, and move toward connection. We work together to support you in establishing a new normal centered on healing and shared dignity. I work best with adults seeking a safer space to grieve honestly; ask and answer hard questions like "why is this happening to me" and to stay vulnerable enough to see a life that makes sense after the loss.
I provide individual therapy for those who heal best that way and groups for those who prefer a community approach. I offer free consultations where you can get to know me a bit before you decide on me as part of your team of healing, growth and recovery.
Reach out to me. Even if this is a sad time. I'm happy to speak with you.
